- A small group of my ELA classmates and I organized an event to meet incoming members of the Liffrig School of Education and Behavioral Sciences and talk with them about joining ELA.

4th Grade Heritage Center Social Studies Lesson - fall 2015
A classmate and I prepared and taught an interactive lesson on agriculture to various fourth grade classes from schools in the Bismarck community using historical materials at the North Dakota Heritage Center.
BLAST Science Lesson- fall 2015
A group of classmates and I taught a lesson about the five senses to students in the after school program at Prairie Rose Elementary School.

- In both practicum experiences, I participated in PLC meetings and learn how teachers work together to best provide for their students.

Family Mentorship Program- Spring 2015
- In collaboration with the nursing, occupational therapy, and physical therapy departments at the University of Mary, my partner and I worked with a family who has a child with special needs. It was a rewarding experience to discover what home life is like for students with disabilities.

- Each member of the group role-played a professional that is involved in an IEP meeting. As a special education major, I acted as the facilitator and the case manager for the IEP.

"Wachter Day"- Spring 2015
- For a project through ELA. my class and I invited 6th graders from Wachter Middle School to campus to explore college life. We gave tours of campus, ate in the cafeteria, sat in on a biology lecture, and played games in the field house. We wanted this group of students to see that college is a realistic goal despite the circumstances of life.
